Principal’s message

Welcome to Norman G. Powers P.S.!

Our school opened its doors in September 2005 and our vision at NGP is one founded on the ideas of collaboration, inspiration and empowerment. We value working as a school community with all stakeholders including staff, students and parents/guardians to provide the best learning opportunities for our students both in the classroom and throughout the school.  We strive to create an equitable and safe environment where community members feel valued, a sense of belonging and know they matter.  We have high expectations of all our students and make it a goal to help them understand themselves as learners and inspire them to use their unique talents and gifts. We recognize the importance of providing our students not only with rich learning activities in class but also co-curriculars that allow them to develop their personal interests.  We are proud of the many activities and opportunities offered to our students and recognize that to be an important part of the whole school experience. We value the relationships with each of you and with your children, and welcome the partnerships and experiences that you each bring to our community; thank you for being on this journey with us. Thank you for all your support.  Together with our parent community, we will continue to empower our students and help them become positive, flexible and contributing members of our society.
